KADDY GOLF GUIDES
One and Done Golf Scoring: Earnings vs. FedEx Points
One and Done golf scoring adds the results of your weekly selections across the events in your league. In Kaddy, the commissioner chooses whether standings rank by tournament earnings or FedEx points. Those are separate metrics, so decide which one determines the winner before the season starts.
Earnings scoring: add your golfers’ prize money
In an earnings league, each pick contributes the prize money that golfer earns at the included tournament. Your season score is the sum of those event earnings. The dollar figures represent the scoring measure; they are not a payment from Kaddy.
For a fictional example, your first pick earns $120,000 and your second earns $75,000. Your cumulative league total is $195,000. If a later pick earns no prize money, it adds $0 and your existing total remains $195,000.
Different tournament purses can make some weeks more valuable in this format. Compare the included schedule when deciding where to use a top golfer.
FedEx points scoring: add event points instead
A points league accumulates the FedEx points awarded to your selected golfers at included events. You are adding each pick’s event contribution, not importing that golfer’s entire season points total.
Using fictional numbers, 80 points from your first pick plus 45 from your second produces 125 league points. These numbers illustrate the arithmetic and are not an official allocation for any finishing position.
Event points allocations can differ, just as purses can differ. Earnings and points do not necessarily produce the same standings, even when members make identical picks.
Tournament leaderboard vs. league standings
A tournament leaderboard shows how golfers are performing at one event. Your league standings summarize the cumulative results of your picks across the league schedule. A low score relative to par is useful within the tournament, but is not the number added to an earnings league.
Kaddy applies event results to league standings automatically. Treat an event’s status as important context: an in-progress leaderboard and applied final results describe different stages of the competition.
Scoring decisions to settle before the season
Avoid surprises by agreeing on the metric and included tournaments up front. For unusual events or results, consult the league settings and commissioner rather than assuming a payout or points award.
- Choose one ranking metric: earnings or FedEx points.
- Review the included events and season boundaries.
- Explain how members should handle withdrawals and missed deadlines.
- Agree on how your group will resolve a tied season total.
- Check that event results have been applied before declaring the final winner.
